TEACHING PORTUGUESE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Code of Ethics

  • Each member shall be legally constituted and authorized to operate according to the prevailing laws of the country and have a minimum of three years of experience in the teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE).
  • Each member shall maintain high standards of quality of facilities, accommodation and welfare for its students, as well as in the teaching.
  • Each member shall have a director of studies and an experienced person in its staff responsible for its students’ welfare.
  • Each member shall provide a programme of social and cultural events and ensure that students experience and enjoy the culture of the country.
  • Each member shall give a fair and accurate representation of the school and clearly state its terms of enrolment, fee payment and cancellation.
  • Each member shall assist all students on arrival to ensure that they are placed in the appropriate class level and that it suits their requirements.
  • Each member shall provide courses within a clearly understood and communicated curriculum framework.
  • Each member shall distribute to all students an evaluation questionnaire so as to obtain their view on the teaching and services provided by the school.
  • Each member shall guarantee the integrity of any examination taken or certificate and diploma awarded.
  • Each member shall abide by the constitution and by-laws of AEPLE.
